Products Description
1.2888 High-temperature and high-speed die steel, which has high strength, high temperature resistance and good wear resistance. 1.2888 High-temperature and high-speed die steel is mainly used for nozzle head, nozzle body, infusion tube, etc. of aluminum die-casting, magnesium alloy, copper die-casting molds.Extreme retention of hardness, suitable for all applications where particular resistance to high temperature wear and melt of metal is required.

Heat Treatment
1.2888 Quenching temperature: 1100-1150 ° Common tempering temperature: 600-750 ° Tempering hardening value/MPa 500 ° - 55 600 - 54 650 - 53 (surface hardness after surface hardening)

Soft Annealing
Heat to 760-840℃, cool slowly in furnace. Time is 4-6 hours. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 320.
Stress Relieving
Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to 600-650℃, holding for 1-2 hours at heat, followed by air cooling. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 1100-1150℃ followed by air, oil quenching or vacuum quenching. Hardness after quenching is about 52 HRC.

Soft Annealing
Heat to 800-840℃, cool slowly in furnace. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 250.
Stress Relieving
Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to 650℃, holding for one hour at heat, followed by air cooling. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 1020-1060℃ followed by oil, air or warm bath quenching. Hardness after quenching is 49-53 HRC.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 600-750℃, to increase hardness, temper 2 or 3 times.

Extrusion tools for copper, copper alloys and steel, including special dies, die casting tools of all kind for brass, goosenecks and chambers for magnesium die casting, extrusion tools for steel. Nop water cooling.
